  yes, there has been crime as long as we can remember.

  Not to derail the discussion but I hear people using the expression "living off the backs of taxpayers" a lot. Are government workers and politicians supposed to work for Free?

  When you think about it, anyone who works for a profitable business and who gets a paycheck or whose income comes from having made a profit off of someone else, is essentially living off the "backs of others", too and those "others" are typically taxpayers.

  Why do people like to throw that term up in a derisive way when speaking of people whose wages come from taxes especially since government employees and politicians wages are also taxed and they pay local and state taxes just like anyone else?

  Thank goodness there are still people who want to take the lead. Why shouldn't they be paid?

  hi folks.. i put this in practices as i thought that appropriate.

  perhaps it should be in scandalous behavior.

  not a big deal but an example of the cult-ish intimidation and behavior.. at the end of this mornings short wt review prior to the convention brainwash by jackson, ( melbourne australia) the elder stated "brothers we have a resolution to present to the congregation".

  It's difficult to pass a resolution on Zoom so if you don't agree, raise a Hoof or just say "Nay".

  how do the congregation view the inactive ones who no longer associate?

  not with disdain, we are told but as lost sheep “still our brothers “ it is said that god loves them and they too must do what they can to help them.. why have we strayed ?

  I love to visit the Kentucky ark if I ever get to that part of the world although they say it is quite expensive. The story is obviously a myth but cool nevertheless

  I hear it's all themed. They even have a simulated Jonah and the Whale watching tour and they say the $9.99 all you can eat Last Supper buffet is to die for.

  Haven't seen the data but has crime really increased or did it just seem that way once the media became bored with reporting on Covid and focused their attention on the good ol standby and easy mark....racism instead ?

  I live a short drive from a major city that had a lot of media attention in the last few months. When you don't watch the news, none of it exists and your stop seeing things the way they've decided you should see them. Except for the masks, everyone seems to be going about their lives as normal.

  JW's can be very vindictive, petty and officious when it comes to exercising the mere bit of power they are allowed to have. They like to think they are being loyal to Jehovah but in reality, their motivation is purely personal.

  We feel quite powerless when we lose someone in death and sometimes all we have left of the years we spent with them, is the mention of our name in their obituary or their eulogy. Too bad they're using this one last opportunity to show Christian kindness to her non-JW family, to be so small minded.

  Go to the funeral and show them how decent people behave in times like this.

  there was an item in the news on some terrible / horrific child pornography in germany.

  really disgusting to hear what these people were doing with children as young as a few months.

  Maybe you are the one feeding yourself, which is also saying you are doing it at their expense.

  Maybe....but highly unlikely. Besides, the topic is "praying before eating" and no one is praying to thank me and I am not God nor do I have his ability to feed the world even if I were to starve myself.

  Baptism during Covid - pool must tough the ground?

  the july 2020 announcements mentions that baptism can be held in an “inflatable pool” as long as it touches the ground.

  the pool must not be “on a terrace, flat roof, balcony, etc.”.

  has anyone ever noticed that as a requirement?.
